We are reunited once again.
I managed to find heather at the hostel and everything is going good - back on track. We woke up this morning to Heather using her book light to scare away a lizard in our room and telling me to "get it out." Upon further inspection, we found a pair of scissors. Yes, a pair of scissors that Heather thought was a lizard. We laughed for about give minutes..... rats, cockroaches and lizards - oh my!
After breakfast we got on a tuk tuk and visited a bunch of buddas. One lays down, one is lucky and one is HUGE! We went to the grand palace where they give you clothes to wear (heahter got a fetching new skirt), but it was way too hot so we were only there for a little while. After that we made the trek to the vietnam visa place, where we couldn't understand the woman. She then got mad that we couldn't understand her......then we didn't have enough money and then we couldn't find an ATM, and then we came back she was no longer at the counter. We eventually did get them, but have to repeat the process tomorrow and go pick them up. We're hoping it's a different lady (keep your fingers crossed for us).
It's 4 o'clock and it's time for a thai beer, which you can buy right on the street out of someones bucket. Tomorrow we are off to a floating market and then Siem Reap on Saturday.
Keep the comments coming - they make us laugh! :)
Love,
Hea & Lea
P.S. While heather anxiously awaited my arrival she was attacked by thailand mosquitos and now has 20 big read bumps to prove it. I offered to put an X through them for her, but she says that only works when her mom does it! She learned her lesson and will be applying DEET regularly - don't worry though because we are not in a Malaria area.
