Hi Everyone!
Its Heather updating the blog today! We arrived safely in Sihanoukville yesterday early afternoon. Sihanoukville is a little city on the southern coast of cambodia. We are staying in a very cute place called Cloud 9. It sits right on the ocean and the little beach huts climb up the side of the hill. When we wake up in the morning we can open our shutters and look right out on the ocean. It is very cool.
Today was a good day. We booked a tour to go out to Ream National Park. It was about a 25 minute drive and once we got there we all loaded onto a slow boat and took about an hour and a half boat ride through the mangrove forest. We arrived a secluded beach and Leanna took a dip while I soaked up some sun. From there we went on a trek through the jungle and ended up at a dolphin lookout place where we were served lunch. It was baguettes, barracuda fish and some salad, with fruit for dessert! Pretty impressive! Sadly we didn't see any dolphins but apparently if we come during November to May they see them everday, just missed them! We were also told that we might see monkeys which we didn't until later on an unplanned excursion. We did however see TONS of biting ants, forest squirrels and birds. Haha not quite as exciting but still cool. On the way back into town our driver offered to take us to a waterfall, for an extra charge of course! The car full of people agreed and we were off. It was neat but nothing too too special! Leanna had to share her seat with the boat driver, and I am pretty sure the little Camdodian man wanted to marry Leanna and come live with her in Canada!
First moto ride! We both took our first moto ride this morning. Granted it was only for about half a kilometer but still exciting! I really didn't want to get on but wasn't really left with much choice. It wasn't as scary as I thought!
Funny story that hasn't been told yet: When we were at Angkor Wat with Sambo we stopped one morning to eat breakfast in this little hut thing. Sambo was conversing with the ladies running the joint and they were all laughing at us. So Leanna asked what was so funny and he saíd "They say you have baby hair". I looked over at Leanna and sure enough she did, two little braided pig tails! It was so funny and the girls were so friendly.
We both have a little bit of a tan now which is nice! We are staying here for one more day and then off to Ho Chi Minh City. Everyone we tell that we are going there laughs and says "very busy". Apparently you can't cross the street and cars don't stop at red lights.....plus its another 10 hour bus ride! We better relax and get some sun while we can!
Keep the comments coming, they make us smile everytime!
Love Heather
