Hello,
So we finally dragged ourselves away from Lachoe and Ana's lovely, comfy sofa and hired ourselves a tourer campervan for the drive down to Sydney. "Bestie", the beast of a campervan only cost us a $1 a day as a relocation deal so it all worked out well. We set off midday on Tuesday, heading south and went through the gold coast and then did the coastal route via Byron Bay, and Lennox head, passing such lovely named roads as "Bald k*** road"!!!! We decided to stop overnight in Coff's Harbour and found a campsite to park up in. The next day we visited a dolphin and sea lion show in coff's harbour which was very good and then got back on the road, with the next stop being Port Macquarie. After driving around numerous roundabouts in Port Macquarie as I couldn't find anywhere to park "Bestie" waiting for our lunch to be ready we headed south again to Port stephens, where we slept in a little town called Anna's Bay. We also checked out Nelson Bay and Gan Gan lookout point, very pituresque! On thursday, we headed back on the 1 highway, and arrived in sydney at around 1pm, after negotiating the roads through sydney city and I drove "bestie" across the sydney harbour bridge!!!
We have enjoyed our little time in sydney, visiting the opera house, harbour bridge, darling harbour, the rocks, getting a ferry over to manly and walking a coastal route from coogee beach to bondi beach today. However the difference in temperature is quite alarming and really limits the amount of activities we want to do outdoors!
So the photos are to follow and we will probably do a final couple of updates when back in New Zeland, to show you photos of Wanganui, Jan and Wellington.
Love to everyone xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
