Had a leisurely breakfast at our hotel and then made our way to our usual taxi stop at the Crowne Plaza just off Plsce de Republique. Got a taxi to Chatelet Les Halles where we could get the RER A train to Marne la Vallee Chessy , Disneyland. This was the first of our stairs! We must have lugged the bags down 3 or 4 flights of stairs. Easy train ride to Marne la Vallee to encounter ... more stairs. The lift was out of action, as well as the escalators.
The station is in the middle of the 2 Disney parks and the shuttle bus to our hotel right alongside. Quick and easy ride to our hotel. The check in took a long time. The reception staff member told me that the hotel was at near capacity, with 60% of guests being Spanish. The resort is actually a series of buildings and ours, Sitting Bull, was close to reception. Luckily all the buildings are one story because .... more stairs. The room was dated and tired, which was surprising because it is very expensive. There was a kettle but no other tea making implements, no hairdryer unless you hire, bunk beds which the kids loved and a big squeaky bed which squeaked EVERY time Mario moved. We took the shuttle bus to Disneyland and went to explore. Had a great time. Lots of things similar to Anaheim. Also visited the other park, Western I think it was called. Went on the flying carpet ride. Also took the tram ride showing behind the scenes movie making. Great fun, very similar to the Universal tour. Dinner was at the Chuck Wagon. Probably so called because of the sheer volume and variety of food available and the quantities being piled onto plates.
