Alright so here is what we did on our adventure to ITALY.
We started out taking the train from tours to paris. From there we stayed the night in the CDG airport. it was quite interesting. A janitor/security guard saw us sleeping and told us that we could go sleep in the handicap area, which had actual semi-cushioned chairs. We arose at like 7 and went and got b-fast and found our flight. We took the plane to ROME and then we went to the club that night. we danced, met some ppl, and had a wonderful time. Then we left the campsite with all our gear and ventured into the city of ROME. We explored the city. First we went to the vatican museum, then the trevi fountain, and finally the Colosseum and the ruins. After a long day of traveling we were ready to head to our next destination, Florence. What an adventure that was.
we got on the train and headed to florence and didnt arrive till 12pm and then found our bus. we tried to explain to the bus driver where we needed to go and he was like alright just wait and ill tell you. So we waited and he dropped us off. He said that it would be about 500m away. Nope it was def. like 2 miles away. we arrived at about 1:30 in the morning or so and we were worried that they wouldnt let us check into the hostel, but thankfully they did. so we took showers and crashed. the next day we took showers again and headed into the city. We walked around and found a massive church and paid 6 euros to climb to the top of the dome, which was 463 steps up and then down. Man did we get our work out. At the top, you could see the entire city. It was absolutely amazing!!! as you can see in the videos. Then we made our way back and headed around town. We ended up at dinner in a quiet little restaurant looking over florence. it was amazing! then we proceeded to watch the sunset with our vino and take pics with the fake David. After we headed back to the hostel and chatted with ppl and then headed to bed. In the morning we showered, b-fasted, and then checked out. We went around town again and just looked around and then headed to our train. We were on our way to CINQUE TERRE.
In Cinque Terre we went to our hostel and then took the bus to a little pizzeria. It was amazing. The pizza was amazing. After, we headed back and got some zzzzz's. we had a long hike infront of us. So in the morning we caught the shuttle and headed to the sothern most city and started there. Cinque Terre consists of 5 cities, Riomaggiore, Corniglia, Manarola, Verenazza, and Monterrosso. The hike took us about 6 hours. We stopped in one for lunch, another for gelato, and the last to go swimming. The hike was extrodinary! You had to climb numerous steps and hills. Some parts were downhill and others up steep slopes. The last stretch verenazza to monterrosso was the hardest of all. The path was no bigger than a foot and there was numerous steps. But the view was breath taking. i wish that i could really explain how it was. After getting to the last city we grabbed some dinner from a market and took it back to the hostel. After dinner we crashed. The next day we headed to Venice. I was sad to leave, but i know that some day ill make my way back!!!!
We arrived in Venice and headed to our hostel. The next day we headed into the city and explored. It was amazing. i really wanted to go on a gondola ride but they were far too expensive. so we just explored and found the biggest piece of pizza i have seen in my entire life. it was enormous. We also found this place where they had vino on tap. It was great. We had our gelato and took pics. We ended up spliting because i needed to get away, being with someone that long all the time can get real bothersome at times. So we went our ways and i explored and got lost but finally found my way back. I ended up taking a taxi, let me remind you that it was a boat, to our place where our bus picked us up and took us back to the hostel. Then we showered and went out and chatted with ppl and danced and what not. Then the next day we checked out and hung out at pool. I got burntttt. haha. i knew i was going to but anyways. we headed out and made our way to the train station. this is where the fun stuff comes in.
We found out that we had to print our tickets in france because the network that they were on were not international or something. So we headed to an internet cafe and tried to print tickets there, but no luck. So we tried to go and buy new tickets but it was sold out. So we decided to go talk to the conductors and this really nice man that was like its ok with me, but i have no authority and cant make the decision. By this time, a man saw us crying and asked if we were ok and we said no and explained to him what was going on and he said that he would help us. his wife came soon and helped also. about 4 minutes before the train was scheduled to leave, and after all the ppl except that one nice man said no, we jumped on the train. We went to a cabin that had only one person and waited. it was the scariest 15 minutes on a train i have ever experienced. They could have fined us 300 euros, or kicked us off somewhere, and yelled at us. But the man, Kevin, was amazing. he was like, if there is a problem have them come talk to me and we will figure it all out. By this time we were bawling and the mom, Jeannie gave us hugs. This was when i really wished that my mom was there. haha. i can be a baby a times. But come to find out the man that said it was ok for us to get on the train was the one checking tickets and grunted when he saw us and told us that he would find us our places. eventually he did. we slept in the top bunks of the cabin. there was a french family in there with a little boy who was 4. he was quite entertaining. finally we arrived in paris and he ran out of the train and got inside before anyone could ask us anything. We found an earlier train back to tours and finally made it back at 2pm. I am so thankful for that couple that took care of us. I dont know how i would have made it with out them. I was exhausted and took a 4 hour nap and then headed down to dinner. Dinner was amazing. I missed my host moms cooking and was glad to have a wholesome meal. The past week, i have learned so much about traveling and about myself. I cant wait to share these times with others and hope that they might learn something from it also. Traveling to Italy was the best of times. More are to come in TOURS.......
