Saz and Dave's travels
Today we had to get up at 6am (oh it was awful it felt like the middle of the night) as Mr Binh said this was the best time to see the floating market at CaiRang. To get here we got on the bus for a bit and then for about an hour on the boat. We stopped off for a bit on the way to see the rice noodle making process which was really cool especially since they had a load of pigs there which were really funny to watch! We stopped off again to get a drink which was good as it was so hot today and quite uncomfortable sitting on the boat as it had no roof and we were literally just cooking!
On the way back along the river to our hotel Mr Binh turned round and asked me if I wanted to drive the boat for a while as the driver was tired and we were on the front row. It was so much fun but I was a bit scared as there were about 30 people on the boat and I didn't quite have the hang of the gears - put it in reverse at one point by mistake! After a bit we swopped back to enter the narrow tributary where we were to get off and because the tide had gone down the boat got stuck in the mud. The driver promptly jumped in the water and somehow managed to get us going again which was lucky as otherwise we would have had to swim!
When we got back to the hotel we had some lunch then all got back on the bus for a 5 hour journey back to Ho Chi Minh City. We got in about 5pm where we all dashed up to Sok's room for a shower as Dave, me and Rochelle were all booked onto the 10 hour overnight bus to Nha Trang at 8pm - crazy amount of travelling today! We had a quick tea at a little restaurant then boarded the bus.
