Saz and Dave's travels
We were woken up this morning at about 6:30am by the loud clanking of the anchor being pulled up. As we didn't actually have to get up until 7am we decided to have a bit of a lie in and stay in bed a while. This was such a bad decision! As the boat started to move we were rolled about in our beds which made us feel really queasy and and made it incredibly difficult to get dressed. I quickly threw some clothes on and ran up stairs to get some fresh air as I was very close to being sick. As I left I told Dave to close the window in our ceiling as it was still slightly open from the night before. When Dave appeared a few minutes later, however I could sense something was wrong. It turned out that in trying to close the window Dave had actually flooded our cabin as the boat had hit a wave, causing Dave and the window to fly upwards, Dave hit his head and a ton of sea water came crashing in through the window onto our bed! This was not good, especially as the weather was cloudy and rainy so we wouldn't be able to dry anything.
Because the weather was really bad the boat was moving about quite a bit today and everyone felt quite sick. One guy was sick off the back of the boat and one girl was sick in the loo which made us all feel a bit worse. We were all really glad when the boat finally stopped and we could al pilie into the dinghy and onto solid ground.
We walked from where the dinghy dropped us off for about 20 minutes to Whitehaven beach, voted one of the most beautiful beaches in the world with incredibly white sand. It was such a shame it was cloudy but nevermind! Whilst we were on the beach, one of the crew members got us to leap about whilst she took photos of us which turned out to be pretty cool.
After going to Whitehaven beach we got back on the bnoat which everyone was dreading, however the sea seemed slightly calmer which was good. We all got some lunch then got into our stinger suits, fins and snorkells to go snorkelling in the rain! The snorkelling was good although we all got a bit cold and it was nice to get back on the boat for a coffee and some cake!
We spent the rest of the day chilling out on the boat playing cards and listening to music before having a bbq tea, playing some games and looking at all the great photos from the day.
After tea we had some 'goon' and chatted to a really friendly Canadian couple from Vancouver who said we can go and stay with them if we want and even offered to help Dave get a job as the guy works for an aeronautical engineering company!
