Saz and Dave's travels
Today we had a full day in Hervey Bay before our overnight bus to Airlie Beach. After checking out of our room we took advantage of the sunny day and washed all of our grubby clothes from Fraser Island. Whilst they were drying we walked into the main part of town which is tiny - smaller than Bramhall! We bought a load of postcards which we may even send one of these days and had a stroll along the beach. We grabbed lunch at a pretty smart but cheap restaurant and then wandered back to the hostel to attempt writing the postcards.
Whilst we were trying so hard to concentrate and write, a fat dog sitting by the pool started to whine terribly and eventually yap in a distressed way. Dave, the animal lover that he is got up to see what the dog wanted and seeing a tennis ball at the bottom of the pool he fished it out and gave it to the dog. The dog was incredibly happy which lasted all of 5 minutes until it dropped the ball in the pool again! Leaving Dave to get sucked into this hopeless cycle I carried on with my postcards.
Later we went back into town to try and upload some of our Aussie photos for you guys. We paid the extortionate amount for an hour and sat patiently whilst the photos uploaded even asking the shop to stay open a further 10 minutes whilst the upload completed. However to our dismay, when the upload was complete the website crashed meaning nothing had been achieved.
Feeling pretty frustrated we decided to get some tea. I noticed a Chinese that looked nice with an all-you-can-eat buffet. We didn't really have time to sit down for a proper meal so we each got a box for 7 dollars which you could fill with stuff from the buffet and take away. This was great fun and by the time we had finished, our boxes were bursting at the seams! The chinese turned out to be very tasty and after it we just had time for a shower and to say goodbye to our group from Fraser Island before we had to go and get the overnight bus to Airlie beach.
