A late start this morning. Bad nights sleep then I overslept!!!
With "the human gps" (Graeme!!) we got to Helen & Bens for brunch which was a lovely way to end the wedding celebrations.
We said goodbye to Barb, Steve, George & Penny there.
As the sky was a cerulean blue Jay, Graeme, Aunty Betty, the kids & I headed to the beach for a swim in the Pacific surf.
First though we had an important event. I had brought a small bag of mums ashes with me. She had always wanted to make the trip to NZ, and I was determined she would.
So on this beautiful clear day on an amazing beach we each took a small handful of Mum & scattered her in the sea. A few tears were shed, and some shells were collected to take home.
After that normal beach activity resumed - swimming, sandcastles, burying small children up to their necks. Fantastic fun!!
We returned to Graeme's sisters for fish & chips NZ style. Wow!! My piece of snapper was delicious and the Paua (abalone) fritter was an experience!!!!
Then back to the motel to start packing.
