WOW! What a day!!! We travelled up to Glenorchy by bus (we only had to stop once for a Lord to throw up - Hazel on this occasion!!) Then we climbed into wetsuits and life jackets to board a jet boat. Our first experience of NZ rain - and boy can it rain! It didn't stop us though!! We visited the Kiwi Bird Sanctuary and saw (you guessed it) Kiwis!!!! Adam got mugged by a kakariki (native parakeet) as part of a great bird show. Then we got to see the Tuatara close up (lizardy type thing. Very scaley!!) and the highlight - seeing kiwis. We arrived safely and easily in Queenstown by 10am this morning. It is stunning - a huge lake surrounded by mountains. We went up the cable car this afternoon. Which provided gorgeous views and a very silly activity - the luge!! Great fun and Hazel managed to steer her own luge with only a few crashes!! Off out to eat now x

Another fun packed day! We went to Zealandia this morning - a fenced off valley where all the non indigenous species have been removed to allow NZs birds and plants to flourish. A fascinating and beautiful place. Then we took a Wellington icon, the cable car, down into the city which was fun.
