IIMC:llä on yks outdoor klinikka 3tunnin ajomatkan päässä Kolkatasta.
Joku tunti sitten kesti junalla sieltä Kolkataan. Oli kyllä niin mukava reissu.
Dakhi on Sundarbanissa. Sundarban on maailman isoin joku sademetsä?. 1/3 on Intian puolella ja loput Bangladeshin puolella. Pieni osa Sundarbania on asuttua, Dakhi kuuluu siihen alueeseen ja loput on suojeltua.

IIMC has one outdoor clinic 3hours drive away from Kolkata. On Wednesday when's Dakhi day the volunteers that goes there have a opportunity to stay there for two nights and visit the peace council and microcredit group and some schools. On my last week Jenny, Ru and I decided to go there and stay. On Wednesday we worked at the outdoor clinic, then later in the afternoon we visited the peace council group, helped the women in the kitchen to make dinner, served dinner to indoor clinic patients and then in evening after dinner we had a small get-to-know-each-other party with some of the IIMC-workers. At the peace council meeting and at the party in the evening we learned some Indian dances or at least they tried to teach us. I can't figure it out how do they do the head thing. How are they able to move their head like that?
In the evening we went to the guest house's rooftop and layed down. I saw 6shooting stars in 20minutes! It was my first time when I saw shooting starts. I have thought that I have seen or I haven't been quite sure. I have stared at the stars for so long that in the end I haven't been sure that did I see or was it just my eyes. But now I saw, it was cool.
On Thursday morning we went to an island near Dakhi. We walked around the island and went to see a microcredit group. Then we packed our things and left Dakhi. We went to a different rural village. It took about 3hours to get there. On the way there we stopped by at IIMC high school and at a interesting looking temple. The second night we slept at IIMC school. Unfortunately the school was closed so we didn't see any students. They were on a break. The school didn't have any electricity or running water or anything nearby, it was a cool experience. We were really tried so we took a nap after lunch. But some kids had seen us coming so they came to the school and wanted to play with us. We tried to tell them that later, after our nap. They tried to annoy us by yelling and making weird noises. We pretended that we were sleeping, it was kind of annoying. Finally they gave up and we had our nap. We slept for 2hours and unfortunately the sun had already gone down. We still went outside to the school ground and we met one of the girls that tried to keep us up. We went to see her home, met her parents and baby brother. We stayed there for like an hour and tried to communicate with them with our little bengali-knowledge. She painted our nails. She didn't paint our nails on our right hand even when we told her that she can. But she didn't because you eat with your right hand. I was happily surprised that they have understood that or realized that it's not hygienic to have nailpolish on your fingers when you're going to eat with the fingers because so many bacteria goes under in the nailpolish etc.
On Friday morning before we left back to Kolkata we played with the kids, danced and sang. But most of the time I played soccer with two young boys. Then we took a shared jeep to some town where was a train station. We sat on the jeep's roof, it was so much fun and relaxing. We played some music on my phone and sang. And a beautiful landscape around you. It took about an hour to the train station. And an hour by train back to Kolkata. It was a really nice, relaxing and a beautiful trip.
Dakhi is in Sundarbans. Sundarbans is world's largest mangrove forest. 1/3 is in India and the rest in Bangladesh. A small part of Sundarbans has villages and Dakhi is in that part, the rest is protected area. It is a really beautiful area.
