After hiring a car called hydauri getz, we all set off early in morning to go Port Douglas which was about a hour drive away from Cairns. Charlene was really excited to go in the car and drive it! the cost of hiring the car was only 14 dollars each which was cheap as most tours was charging around 60 dollars each to go to Port Douglas. it was raining cats and dogs while we were driving on the way, we saw some gorgeous sights such as the ocean crashing against the rocks splashing all over the birds! one time we saw burned out tress on a forest, it was sad to see that as it was more likely to be caused by nature such as bushfire, when i paid more attention to the charred wood, i saw some smoke coming out of the ground which indicates it happened not a long ago. With the map directions from Ashley, we arrived at Port Douglas on time, we decided to go to the town of Port Douglas as it was still raining so hard, we managed to find a parking space and i couldnt believe it when i got off the car, suddenly i saw that my trainers was soakign wet already from the downstream of rain coming through the road, that how bad it was! we all ran for cover from the horrendous rain, we browsed around the shops in Port Douglas which was nice with these cosy little shops such as tradional liqiour store and between two flags shop. We had orginally wanted to go to the four mile beach but seeing the weather is not what we antipated so we opted to sit the rain out by having a gorgeous hot chocolate drink! Eventually the weather settled down ending with a little bit of rain so we got in the car and drove to the four mile beach, once we got there i was amazed to discover that there were a poster saying there have been some crocodile sightings few days ago on the four mile beach and that they recommend us to be alert while swimming in the ocean, i told Asher thanks god today was not too good wuith the weather otherwise i would be uneasy to go in and swim alongside the crocodiles! we all walked along on the beach and i saw a huge dead toad lying on the beach, it looked like it had been there for days! after a while of walking, we decided to go back to the car and drive to somewhere else but suddenly the weather improved to a brighter blue sky and the sun began to come out! that is the tropical weather for you so with some persuation from the lads who wanted to swim in the sea after a burst of excitement from the sun so me and charlene relented and stayed by sunbathing on the four mile beach while the lads messed about in the sea. Both of us were making the lads a bit nervous after saying stuff like "theres a croc behind you!" their face expressions was such a gem to see haha! after a couple of hours, the sun decided to hide from us so we packed up and decided to go back to Cairns, before we could do so, Dom was still wet from swimming and charlene refused to let him go in the hired car as we all didnt want to pay for damages therefore Dom had to resort to wearing my girly bufferly shorts as his own was too wet to be worn let alone in the car :-P i could not resist to take photos of him coming out the toilets wearing the shorts! he said he felt gay while he was wearing these...
