This was our last day in shanghai which was spent by preparing for our train journey which departs at 12.05 noon towards shenzhen. i woke up around half eight in the morning and got a shower, i was impeccably impressed with the shower as it was quite hot and powerful whereas some hostels had just cold water and dripping water lol! the bathroom was quite clean as it was checked by a woman cleaner three times a day everyday. it also helps that my dorm was just two doors away from the bathroom! after i got changed i embarked on packing but i couldnt open my locker as i forget my pin number! it took me around five minutes to finally remember my pin, how humiliating for me. i eventually got everything i needed to pack and i went to get my blanket from the top bunk as there was a 4 bed dorm in our room but we shared with nobody else so it was practically private room for us! we came downstairs and got my deposit back, i realised i had too much yuan in the currency as i needed to change it to hong kong collars soon so i went to the bank just down the block and i was amazed to see there was nobody in the bank apart from three workers! i wasnt complaining though seeing that i could get it done quicker rather than waiting. all of us went to the railway station by subway as it was more quicker and cheaper than a taxi at 4 yuan one way. We got on the train which was going to shenzhen and we were on hard sleeper beds which was similar to the soft sleeper beds earlier from beijing to shanghai however the noticeable difference was the beds as in the hard sleeper, there was six beds in a pile and soft sleeper was four beds with more space. I was in the middle bed which was alright but i got a bit uncomfortable because i had so many fly bites on my legs and arms. call me sad but i counted them and it was 14 bites! :-( it itched so bad i tried to avoid itching it. Funnily enough, charlene, Dominic and Asher didnt get a single bite! Ashley had two bites on his legs but it was minimal compared to mine which looked like boils! i knew i would get fly bites eventually because when i was in corfu few years previously, i had a few. Asher suddenly had three fly bites next day when we arrived at hong kong. The journey from Shanghai to Shenzhen took 20 hours which felt like a long time to be honest cos it was in a small space and there were too many children running around. During the journey we kept ourselves occupied by reading magazines and using our creative minds to talk about stuff to entertain ourselves!
