I'm about to leave Kashgar. Well ... I say that with abit too much certainty. Truth is I don't know when I'll be leaving Kashgar and I say this while standing with a 12 kg pack on my bag. It's certainly a slimming experience. As I stand here in a 30 by 20 feet ventilation less hall, crammed with at least 200 people... Alas the train arrives and there are shouts, whoops, and relieved sighs. I'm trying hard to keep my cool and sense of adventure and humor about. My knife that i bought in the Sunday bazaar got confiscated, so my bad for not thinking properly. A 10 dollar lesson in customs regulations. So I wait for my train which is already 6 hours late due to the earthquake in Yining. By the looks of it, I'll either arrive in Turpin just after 8 pm when my bus leaves or I arrive the next morning and will have a bit if time to look around Turpan, hopefully for a cheaper fee. By the looks of it, my stay in dunhuang will probably be cut short by a day and I'll have to do the Mogao caves and echoing sands dune in a day. Just as well, I think I've had enough night markets for abit. At least this is all I can carry until I reach Mongolia at least. Well the cleanup army is on the trains now doing their job. Till I write again!
