I'm in Turpan. After a huge gongshow last night, im in Turpan. But I survived. Perhaps a couple hundred yuan poorer, but still - surviving. Today's schedule has been grueling though. Being a full on tourist hitting site after site has its ups and downs. The weather here must at least be 40degrees Celsius. This is only slightly cooler than being in the Israeli desert, but even then, there's water here. So u can't imagine what it's like without water. So anyway... Due to flooding on the roads near hami, I can't take the bus to dunhuang anymore. There wasn't a bus when I arrived yesterday anyway. In any case I asked and he quoted me 260 yuan which is a whole hundred yuan higher than what they should be charging me. Just as well, I got to the station today and bought a train ticket to liuyuan for 174 yuan instead. I think I'm going to take tomorrow slow. I'm getting tired. Probably nap in the morning before heading out or coming back in the afternoon to avoid the dead heat. ok... I'm off to explore jiaohe city... And part of me is puzzled as to how to pay my driver later. Should I stick to the original price or give more? I have a 50 yuan buffer to spare so we'll see what happens later. Hopefully he let's me off easily as I'm letting him go home early to rest while I wait at the train station for my train. Ciao bao!
