So I've just come back from my amazon tour, wasn't as good as I had hoped, however entertaining... We didn't see any animals besides a caiman (like a croc) that was 50cm baby. We also went piranha fishing, we all caught fish, they were all pretty sml tho, one girl caught a fish then the tour guide unhooked it and stabbed it thru the eye with a screw driver then cut its head to kill it... We went hiking, i swam in the amazon and just rode around on the boat, hoping to see something. I stayed on a cabin the first nite with ten frogs and some other insecs and the other two nights I camped in a hammock!! There were 3 other ozzies on my tour which were nice. Our guide liked to take seiesters, very laid back, however preferred him over the other tour guide who was taking another group that polished off atleast a bottle of whiskey a day!! And of course was driving the boat around, but I got to drive the boat too so wasn't bad, overall an interesting and cultural experience. The people's lives in the jungle seem so simple.... and boring... So I'm in Manaus now, heading for olinda tomoro morning, need to be up at 4. Hopefully I will also buy a sim card there.
