Today a group of us hired a taxi to take us to a national park to do some trekking. Little to my knowledge did I know that the track would be muddy from the previous four days of down pour and that pink jeans and Birkenstocks would not be appropriate. The trail at times was a foot wide, with fallen trees and bushes across the track, sometimes there was also the need to duck under some of these, it was an obstacle course. So after 3hrs of walking (along the wrong path at that) we arrived back at our starting point, thank god. My feet, ankles and sandles were all black, and I looked like a hobo.
Yesterday we hitched a ride up to el fuerte, which was a park that contained inca ruins. This track was much more to my liking, however very touristy with beautiful scenery.
