It had stopped raining this morning. Which was good cause we had a cruise on the lake. It was just beautiful. The sky cleared up and reflected of the snow capped mountains and highlighted all the green fields and forests. I even managed not to be all that cold. Granted I had about seven layers on but it was so worth it. Magical.
After the cruise we picked up some more of the tour group and headed up to Mount Titlis. Words can not describe how beautiful the mountain is. We drove through some small towns with the typical of Swiss homes. Cows grazing out the front and flowers growing everywhere. When we reached the foot of the mountain we had to take a cable car to the top of one mountain, a lift to the next floor, another cable car up the next bit and then finally the revolving cable car to the top of the mountain. Three thousand meters in total.
The first thing we did was to head through the ice caves. They were so beautiful. Not nearly as cold as you'd think being surrounded in ice like that. Then we went to the top floor and stepped out into the snow. Oh boy was it freezing. Minus ten. It was just amazing though. There was a bit of clouds but not much and you could see for ages. There were a few snow fights going on and I was incredibly glad I bought myself a pair of gloves. I think my fingers would have snapped off other wise. I went inside for lunch next and it was so nice to have something warm inside me. By the time I finished though the clouds had drifted in and visibility was really low. It wasn't quite so nice to be out there this time but I did and actually tasted the snow. It was do fresh, it tasted wonderful. Well after that is was back inside to warm up a bit before the trip down. The trip itself was pretty cold hut once I was down and in the sun I had to start stripping off my layers. It was only by comparison that it seemed quite warm.
We had the rest of the afternoon to ourselves so I jumped into a hot shower.
Around four I went out for a walk and ran into a few of the guys from the tour. We split up and got back together with several couple and eventually ended up at an Irish pub for a few drinks. I didn't stay very long though. I went back to my room to repack and get ready for tomorrow.
