Hello!

Just sat in Cairns airport waiting for the flight back to Sydney, I've had to hang around for 4 hours because the bus times were not interlocking with the flight time!!

The Barrier Reef was amazing, we had the best weather they've had for a good couple of weeks, luckily the storms they were having seemed to have died down and we had bright sunshine all day, it was awesome! got to do my 1st scuba dive and what a place to do it! It took quite a while for my ears to adapt to the pressure, I went down a metre about every 5 minutes until we'd finally got down to the 20 metre mark... There were 3 of us in my group doing the "intro dive" (scuba divers that have no qualification ie the PADI certificate) so the instructor could give us all a lot of attention and make the most of our descent! Yes, I do seem to be getting braver (or stupider?) in my old age, we didn't see any sharks, just lots of HUGE fish, little colourful ones and a massive green sea turtle... There are a few pictures I'll put up but obviously it's all under water, so there are limited possibilites without an underwater camera!

Will be back in Coogee this afternoon then flying out to Auckland on Saturday morning... I cannot wait!!
