Sarah and Nicola Matthews' Travels
Hi,
We are now in Singapore and back to the life of a backpacker after 10 days of luxury in Perth. Singapore is lovely and sweaty which has been a bit of a shock to the system after the nice temperature in Perth - but God bless Aircon!
As you may of guessed from my previous diary entries we had a lovely time in Perth and despite it being their winter it was warm and sunny everyday so we were very lucky. The last few days consisted of a action packed shopping day where we visited practically every shop in Perth and rounded up the day with a car breakdown and a rescue by Mr RAC man.
Our last day we treated ourselves to a haircut and also went to visit Colette's minature Pony Merlin. He is too cute for words and has his winter coat on so is ridiculously fluffy! He seemed happy to see us especially as Colette came bearing polos all the way from England which are his favourite treat!
All in all we were sad to leave Perth but i'm sure we'll be back one day.
We had a full day of sightseeing today. Although it didn't start too well as it was raining and me and Caroline got a sightseeing bus that was basically rubbish. It didn't tell you which stop you were at so we got a bit confused! Although we were a bit moody and fed up (not to mention sweaty!) we continued exploring and the rest of the day was good. We had an explore of Little China which was really cool as there were hundreds of shops and cool buildings. Lunch was a bit overwhelming as we sat down in a food court only to have about 10 menus thrown at us and waiters from all the different food places standing looking at us while we made our decision! Not sure how we are going to cope in china as it took us ages to decide on something that didn't contain pig organs or miscellaneous pale meat!
After lunch we had another wander round. We stopped at Clarke Quay which seemed really nice, it looked cool as all the buildings were different colours. We then trotted off to Raffles Hotel to have a look, we were a feeling a bit skanky so decided to leave the Singapore Slings for another day when we were looking more respectable!
Sorry i haven't put any photos on for a while. Just tried but the computer wouldn't let me but we have them all on CD so hopefully we'll get some more up soon
