My last couple of days on Koh Rong were very chilled. Boxing Day was spent topping up my tan on the amazing beach. Danny and Byron left that day, so the two girls we met out there (who Danny knew from uni), we had a nice girly evening. Got all dressed up for our last supper on the island. Ended up talking to a group of travellers and spending the evening with them as well.
Woke up the next morning (27th) boiling as I had done the last few mornings. No electricity before 8am is not the one. Also had a slightly upset stomach, damn that BBQ chicken again. No time to feel sorry for myself though, as I was catching the ferry back over to Sihanoukville. As soon as I was back I checked myself into the same hotel as Craig and slept for the rest of the afternoon. Went out for a quick drink on the beach, but then it was back to bed for me, to enjoy some very lovely air con.
Yesterday was my last day with Craig. Spent the morning sorting my life out a little after being on an island with pretty much nothing on it. Then we had a chilled afternoon by the pool. We went out for our last dinner at a place called PURE. Very fancy. I had steak and I'm pretty sure it wasn't beef, but it tasted good whatever it was haha.
Was sad saying bye to Craig this morning, it's been such a wonderful two weeks. Totally took for granted the safety you feel having family out here with you. But today I met back up with the Australian guys. Turns out the place we are meant to be staying in (they've been there for the last two nights while I've been in the hotel with Craig) is a shocker of a place and have checked out... My bad (I picked it). But they booked us all in somewhere else, much better and great location. Thank god they are nice lads and didn't leave me haha. We dropped our bags off and headed out to Otres beach, which is meant to be one of the nicest in the area. Was pretty sweet, chilled there for a few hours and played some frisbee in the sea, which I'm terrible at.
I also sorted of my Vietnam visa today, there's an embassy about 10 mins away from here. So this morning I went and filled in all the forms and then on the way back from the beach went back, paid my $60 and got my passport and visa, so I'm all set now. Also fell in love with a puppy at dinner.
Some of us went to the local gym this evening, we were the only western people in there. There were no external walls, so no air con, I must have lost a stone in just sweat. Felt so good though, definitely needed it.
Then we had a little ringside reunion and met up with Sam. Some classic pre drink card games and headed to the beach for the line of bars banging out tunes. Turns out some Australians don't know how to handle their drink haha.
