Lousy weather, blowing a gale! Planes taking off from Wellington almost vertically! Not fun to sit in the terminal and listen to the cafe staff going whoooooooo! as the planes take off, anticipation is supposed to be fun but not like that. Closed my eyes on takeoff and it wasn't too bad although Sarah complained of a sore hand afterwards. Once up flight was ok made up some time and only arrived 25 min late,
Jennifer was waiting for us when got through customs in Nadi although she was supposed to have been picked up already. No car was ordered for her or us. We had to take a cab and boy what a cab, if you could call it that. Talk about a rattle trap, I am just glad it didn't break down on the way over dreadful roads, more pottlehole than road, least around Nadi, further along it got better, just.
Check in was a process, the booking was made for rooms together but they gave us rooms on different floors, we had to get them to change. Had to get to the room by van as it was so far away. Thought this could be annoying but it turned out to be a good thing as we got a little bit of exercise each day just getting from the room to the pool or restaurant.
