The rolling Devon hills became a distant memory as we left Moretonhampstead. We travelled on minor roads and cycle paths all day. Hard climb up over the Mendip hills then down towards Chew Valley Lake, a huge artificial lake which supplies drinking water to Bristol. Longer day today which tested out the siopel cream. Wonderful chance to see the changing landscape from the Devon hills to more gentle Somerset countryside. Day 2Sun cracking the flags! We set off with some intrepidation as we knew this day was going to be hilly. Luckily we had done all our training around the Devon hills so things were not too bad.
