11:32 A.M.-This morning started out slow. Got up, showered, ate breakfast (Uncle Pat makes killer pancakes), and now I'm sitting here waiting for the day to begin. I don't know that we're going to do much today. Uncle Pat did, however, tell me about white squirrels. The squirrels up here are apparently white. The story goes that there was a circus that came to town one year and brought the squirrels with them. Then, dramatic music, a couple of them escaped! Gasp! The squirrels had baby squirrels and then tada, white squirrels.
Much later- Well I guess nothing did turn into something. At about 12 we left to go walk around the little down town area, which consists of about 40 or so shops and restaurants/cafes. There are large, ceramic bears and goats all over the little town area out in front of some stores, which were painted and sold by the local college students for fundraising. The day before today had been a chalk festival, so the sidewalks were lively with colour. For chalk, some of the drawings were extremely detailed. I took some pictures! :3
After downtown we got bored and went to go see the white squirrels. They are actually pretty friendly. They'll come really close, and then when they realize that you don't have any food, they'll scamper off. They're rather fluffy looking in comparison to regular squirrels. I saw a brown one running around near the white ones, and it looked like a rat in comparison. It was gross.
After that Uncle Pat decided to go hiking so I could see some waterfalls, and since Aunt Diane can't really walk very much due to her foot pains, she sat in the car and Uncle Pat promised, "It'll only take 15 minutes." As we were leaving Aunt Diane said "I know better then that." She was, of course, right. We were gone about 50 minutes and saw two falls. What surprised me was that when we came back, Aunt Diane wasn't extremely pissed off at being left in a hot car for 50 minutes. She said that next time we should leave her at home because it was just too hot for her to be in the car, but she said it sweetly. She wasn't upset at all. I've never seen someone be put in that circumstance and not come out genuinely pissed off. By that point it was about 3:15 and we were starved so we went to this little Irish pub and got lunch/dinner. I saw they had Shepard's pie and ordered it immediately. Let me just say that I think Shepard's pie, no matter how you prepare it, will always taste the same. It tasted just like Momma's J Yum! Well, after eating we came home and watched a couple movies (The American is one of the most pointless and depressing movies ever.) and now it's time to go to bed! Night!
Things I learned today: A) White squirrels exist, and are quite friendly, B) Small poodles hate me, and C) some people in this world are really patient.
