ALICE SPRINGS

Hotter than the fires of hell and we are staying in a Caravan!!! We have finally become official full-on 'van dwellin' pikeys - white trash, moi?! surely not. Anyway, accommodation aside we are well impressed with 'The Alice', not just as the jumping off point for The Rock but as a great town in its own right, there is loads of stuff to do and it has a lot of character, partly due to the aboriginal population who hang around the town centre doing their thing, but also due to the impressive array of pubs and restaurants at backpacker friendly prices. Top of our list were Bo-Jangles bar and Rocky Pizza - well we didn't say they were classy - but quality large pizzas and original Rocky prints on the wall, throw in the free garlic bread and it was definitely worth the 23hrs on the coach from Darwin!
