Had another day of sight seeing!! Went to The Grand Palace, temples and the reclining Budda (Wat Po) today. Got the taxi boat there which is so much easier and quicker than getting a taxi and much much cheaper.
It took us ages to find the entrance of the Grand Palace because they only have one entrance and i think the men in the post office sent us the wrong way (i think the give away was that they were laughing as soon as they told us lol) Its was amazing the work that goes into their temples must takes years and years. They were restoring alot of the buildings so we couldnt go into all of them. The main tample we went into was breath taking and i found it quite emotional. Their culture and religion is amazing and so interesting. They have so many eleberate stories to tell each item they worship with it's own reason and meaning.
After that we went to Wat Po ( the reclining Buddha) it was out of this world. You have to see this for yourself to get the true scale of it. It made me feel like an ant, i know thats not hard but really it was huge. We then walked around the gardens and after a long slog went to the Thai Massage School (a proper one not a naughty one) We paid about 220bht for half hour i have never clicked so much. It was really relaxing but a little painful at times. After that we decided to get the boat but they had been cancelled for the day so we tried to get a taxi. None of them would take us home bcause we wouldnt stop at a suit factory so we decided to walk to the nearest sky train using our trusty free map as it didnt look that far. After an hour of walking we discovered that the scale of the map was not quite accurate and after walking for another 2 hours we evenually got to the sky train. After that it was the Night Bizare and then bed, Lame i know but we go trekking tomorrow for 5 days!!
