Okay so on our first proper day in Hong Kong we used public tansport to the max! We went up to Victoria Peak and were very lucky with how sunny it was! We took some amazing photos and then missioned it across to the 'big buddha' which was absolutely stunning! The buddha is made of bronze and is the biggest buddha - possibly in the world!?!?! but I may have just made that up.... The evening was spent in Temple Street Night Market where Sarah and I tried not to uy the whole market and I got my palm read... for anyone that would like to know I am going to die young, get divorced and have a major accident - lovely!
Yesterday we moved hotels (pur new one is AMAZING!) and went to Repulse bay and it was stunning (only a starbucks and pizza hut ruining it!) however there was building work at the back and it is clear that soon the beautiful white beach with lovely blue sea will soon be awash with tourists :(
We headed back to our hotel after this and met our tour group :) they are lovellllllly - all eight others! everyone is pretty young including our guide and everyone has been travelling so I think this trip will be a lot of fun!
We went back to Temple Street Market for dinner and my dinner never arrived.... so I got takeaway (i can now walk and eat with chopsticks!) and we headed to an irish bar for a couple of drinks. The boys headed over on the ferry to go out whilst the rest of us were lame and just went to bed!
In a bit we're all meeting for lunch and then we're headed to mainland China on a 13 hour train journey (the first of many......) Will let you know if we make it!!
