The Malecon
One last item to be ticketed off the list, drive along the malecon at sunset in an old car. First we walked the city loop to get onto the Malecon and see the famous drive by foot. We dined at a government run restaurant where i got a cockroach on my pizza. They removed the cockroach and told me it was a crouton. I followed to explain that the cruton had legs and therefore was not a crouton so they offered us a free desert. This place will not get a tip! When we went to pay the boss said its a free drink and not a desert, this whole thing was a funny joke. We walked out laughing and headed back out along the Malecon.
Along this area we rounded into the harbour and we saw the big guns and old harbour reinforcements for Havana harbour which were scattered on both sides. We took photos of simon (pelican) and headed back to do the drive. We organised a big black guy to drive a 1950's red car with white stripes for an hour, up and down the famous road. The driver stopped a few times and got out to take a few set up photos of us. It was great fun driving this road at sunset. What a life!!!
We decided for our last night that it was best to return to where we had the best mojitos and the rum chicken.... Oh Bradley, where are you??
