Rancho Luna
We chose to leave early and go to a beach side town for snorkelling and relaxing, rather than stay in the ok city.
Also we could catch the same bus to take us to trinidad the next day, so we would be part way down the road. We arrived at a huge hotel complex and before even looking for a place to stay inquired about snorkelling. We got there and within half an hour our bags were locked away and we were on the sailing boat. First we sailed in an indirect way to enjoy the coastline, then we snorkelled in the tropical Caribbean waters and chased fish. Finally we climbed back onto the little sailing catamaran and went a longer way back. How could you top that?
We got a taxi ride to where the driver recommended to stay (this could be risky). After five minutes we arrived at a beach cottage, complete with rocking chairs overlooking the beach, ice cold beer and a fridge to put the rum in; I love Rancho Luna. The afternoon we read books and rocked ourselves, with a little washing and walking mixed in. I may have enjoyed a rum or two, maybe. That night we were served a large dish each of crab with more trimmings than I knew what to do with.
