Hello Everyone. It must be time for a little update on the blog.
At the moment we are spending time in a valley near Sydney. We are staying with a lovely couple, Bob and Louise, they are taking very good care of us - we are being spoiled!!!:) We left San Diego on monday 1th of december to go to Los Angeles airport. We had to be at the airport at 6 pm, so we left San Diego at 10 in the morning and ended up in LAX at about 5 pm. After sitting in the airport in about 4 hours we were told that the plane wasn't able to land in LAX so it was on its way to Ontario, Canada. They said that it could take hours before we could get going, so we just had to sit and wait!!!!!!!!!!! After about an hour they told us that we had to stay at a hotel for the time being and then catch a flight the next morning at 11 am. So they put us up in this wonderful hotel and we got 40$ each to spend at roomservice - and of course we did. We ordered a great meal, smoothies and salat at 12 a clock in the evening just to take advantage of air newzealand for delaying us:) We also had 20$ for breakfast, so we ate a lovely breakfast with fresh fruit and youghurt. We had to be at LAX at 9 am, so we got up early to get a shuttle to LAX and went through securitycheck again and then we went on to Auckland airport where we were suppose to catch our flight to Sydney - but of course that didn't happen, because we were a day late, so we had to stay at a new hotel in Auckland, and we were to catch a flight to Sydney at 7 in the morning (we only got 4 hours of sleep that night).
Finally we arrived at Sydney airport, very tired and very exhausted from the past two days of moving around from place to place and sitting down in small seats in the air!! Emily called Louise and the plan was to walk around in Sydney downtown until Louise got off. We put our bags in a storage and then we went on to exploring quenn victoria center, which had alot of wonderful things. Emily and I have decided that the Australian people have a great taste in clothes - and that it is a bit dangerous because then we want to buy all of it, but it is allright. Everything is so cheap over here (100 kr. = 400au$)! We ate a great lunch and went around the shops until we took the train to chapswood where Louise works. She found us quickly (we had all our bags):), and she was SO sweet. After a while we drove back to Bob' and Louise's place where Bob had made a great dinner.
We have now been here for 4 days and we have had a lot of fun. Bob and Louise has been very sweet and has been taking very good care of us - they are now our australian mom and dad:). Louise took us to Sydney 3 days ago - and while she was working we went to see the opera house, sydney habour bridge, botanic garden and just experiensing sydney bay - it is beutiful! When we met up with Louise she bought us a great cool smoothie, just what we needed and we went to find the car - the funny thing is that we couldn't find it, we had a little bit of fun trying to find the car and finally we did (you know how malls are, and they are huge over here)!!
Yesterday we went to the beach. Bob took us to Sydney at a sweet little market where they had everything. Clothes, food and juwlery. Then Bob drove us to the beach (Bronti beach) and I had a little swim, Bob went in for a quick dib - Emily didn't, she just tried to get a tan, which by the way is very difficult for us. We haven't had any colour yet, it is very enoying!! We went for a 2 km. walk to Bondi beach, which is the big popular beach in Sydney and had some very tasty cakes and a drink. Back in the car Bob drove us to see all the beautiful spots in Sydney and it was really wonderful to get a local perspective of Sydney. Now we know where to go at christmas time:) At 8 pm we met up with Louise and we went to have Thaifood. Bob and Louise ordered for us, and I ended up having tears in my eyes because I got a strong soup, but it tasted really good though. On the way back we sang along to beatles and we had a great time:)
Today we went to an Australien walk about in glennworth valley. We saw and patted a koalabear, kangaroos, and a snake. And then we went to see some aboriginal art. It was nice to walk around among all the animals and just pat them.. We went on to a beutiful horseback riding valley, where you could ride! We have seen a lot of wonderful places the last few days and we are, as always, having the time of our lives. Especially as we are staying here at Bob and Louise, which is so much fun and so much different than staying at a hostel!!:)
Next stop is Brisbane, but you will here more about that later on. As of now you just have a great day and we will see you in feburary:). We are doing great and missing you all. Happy hollidays from down under. We'll write to you soon. Kisses xxx.
