We got to Airlie Beach on Friday and checked into our hostel Magnums. The rooms were fairly big compared to backpackers at Base on Maggie Island! We spent the night catching up with people. You meet so many people that are travelling down the east coast sometimes it's hard to get anytime to yourself not that im complaining but now you know the reason for the lack of bloggage and photos! So Last Saturday we set off on our sailing trip around the Whitsundays, none of the girls were on the same boat as me so I had the worry of who was gonna be on my boat! However it soon disappeared as I realised we had a good group and I made lots of new friends. On the first night we we wnet to the northern part of the Whitsundays - Hook Island, drank some goon and had a bit of a dance. The next day we woke up at 6am and had a snorkel in the great barrier reef before breakfast, the snorkling was brilliant and we saw loads of fish and coral. In the afternoon on Sunday we "sailied" (I say sailed but there was no wind) to Whitheaven Beach which is like the picture perfect postcard its amazing. We had a good few hours there and did the usual pyramind and jumping photos. When we got back on the boat we went and moored up in another bay and again drank goon! You have to understand that now the aussie dollar is $1.60 to a pound it is the cheapest way to drink! This country is so bloody expenisve, alot of the time more than home! Anyway after another night on the goon we arrived back in Airlie on Monday none of us wanting to leave Tongarra our home for the last few days. That night we got our free pizza, and meet up with literally the hundreds of people we had met. It was like goin out on the last night of term or something, u keep bumping into people you no, very strange, but good. The night was great fun! The next day however was a bit of a ball ache because we had to check out of the hostel at 10am and our bus wasnt until midnight. I think we made a coke last about 1 hour in Maccys to take advantage of the free wifi! After an angonising day of waiting around hungover for our night bus down to Town of 1770, we got on the bus! I managed to sleep the whole way which was good! So we arrived in 1770 for two sober days, it was nice to chill out, although every place we decided to chill out in has no vodafone signal and the internet costs like $4 a minute or something ridiculiuos like that! We did a cool chopper tour tho, they were imation choopers but still cool, we spent three hours driving around and then got wedges and sat on the rocks to watch the sunset! So after two days of recuperation we were ready for Fraser Island! Awesome Dude (Aussie Accent!) xxxx
