I love Hong Kong what an amazing city! The British only left here in 1997 and since then it has become apart of China however there is a famous saying here "One Country, Two Systems". Everything is run by the HK government and hence this is a smoothly run city! I arrived here on Friday and checked into my hostel that i had prebooked with STA before i left the UK. Despite the fears that i had, as I had seen bad reviews on the internet, it's alright probably not worth the money I paid but hey who cares im in HK. I went down to the waterfront to see the views of HK island, although the weather is pretty crap here it's still an amazing view. Then i went to the tourist info centre and was met by a lovely women who went onto thank me for what the British had done for HK I assured her I had nothing to do with it! I had an early night ready for my HK island tour which I had also prebooked with STA. Normally I would just recommend booking things when u get here but because i only have a short time here it was easier to do it this way. The island tour consisted of goin up the peak tram to one of the mountians on HK and seeing the amazing view. We also went to a market based in part of the island all the western settlers live. When i was there, like everyplace I've been (apart from India) I really felt like i could live here. We went to a few more places and on a boat ride around the habour. On the tour I met an old couple from Toronto but the guy was orginally from NI where my gran is from. There must be like 50 people that live in that little village so I need to get in touch with her to see if she knows any of the family. It really is a small world. In the night I went down to the laser show that happens everynight from the skyscrappers on HK Island (see pic above). I then went to the night market and bought a ring to replace the one I lost on Maya Bay while doing my fire dancing. Sunday I checked out a few more sights of HK before going to see the IMAX 3D version of Avatar which was amzing. The IMAX theatre, they say, is the best in the world. Well it seemed very good to me. This morning I have checked out of the hostel - I am determined to finish my book, Shantaram, before I arrive in OZ. So I went to the park and read that for a while and I've just been for my regualr dose of Roast Duck and Rice. I am alos now an expert with the old chopsticks. My fligh to Australia via Auckland, don't ask, is at 1900 so I'm goin into the mall in a minute to take advantage of the free WiFi and upload my final blog from Asia. I am on day 50 of my travels today, there have been some amazing moments on my trip so far and have already made some great friends! So goodbye Asia and hello Australaisa! Spk to you soon guys, love ads xxx
