Today was our last day in Washington and we decided to take things a little easier and only went to one place - the museum of American History. I'm glas we made no other plans for the day as we were there for 5 hours, inlcuding going on a tour with a docent.
This museum houses many artifacts that don't really fit into any other museum in the Smithsonian family. We saw things from steam trains that still work, to the original Kermit the Frog puppet, to the very first star spangled banner that was made and which influenced the writing of the country's national anthem.
At the end of al this we decided to walk back to the hotel. I had to do a small bit of shopping, so Michael stayed in a bar and had a couple of beers, while I went to Macy's. We met about an hour later and went back to the hotel to get ready for dinner - a very flash Yum Cha restaurant.
It was our first time having yum cha, and I thought it was delicious, and I think Mick liked it to. Afterwards we just walked back to the hotel and got ready for an early start to the morning.
