Sandra's Adventures
Hi Everyone!
We have fitted so much into the last week. Unfortunatly we leave tomorrow.
We visited a vine yard called Grand Constantia, with a huge manor house museum. The vines had no leaves on them, all bare as it's winter here. Must come back in summer sometime. We tasted the wine there, was so delicious with homemade freshly baked bread.
We have been so luckey with the weather on the days we have arranged to tour around. On Wednesday, after a late night we climbed Table mountain 1086m above sea level! I discovered half way up I have a huge fear of heights, two guys were great, and we eventually got to the top. Amazing views, and such relief!
We visisted the aquarium on Friday, as the weather was really bad. Saw some really cool fish, huge eels, jelly fish and sharks.
We went to Cape of Good Hope on Thursday I think, lost track of which day is which! Was so beautiful there. We bought an ice cream and Kim and I walked up to old light house. There are signs everywhere warning you that baboons are dangerous and attracted by food. Thinking they wouldn't be attracted by ice creams we walked up. Some people coming towards us shouted "baboon", we turned around and there was this huge animal tapping us on back, came up to above our waist! We dropped our ice creams and ran! I wanted to get a picture but everyone was walking away! When we got to the top, we walked down another path to Cape Point, saw some gheckos!
We sat down and had some lunch after about an hours walk. We were being entertained by the baboons who kept approaching people coming out of the shop and stealing their food! I tried some Calamari, you'll be proud to hear Mum, even if is was a tiny tiny peice. It wasn't so bad! I wil try my best to try fish and hopefully like it by the end of this trip!
Yesterday we went to Hermanus, it's famous for it's whales around the coast line. (Southern Right Whales). We spotted quite a few, they came up a few times but was the very time I didn't have my camera ready! They are such huge animals. Had some lunch there also with Champagne, and the weather was beautiful yesterday! Wet and windy again today. Will write soon again. Bye xx
