Hi!

First of all, thank you for all the e-mails. I love getting them. Sometimes opening my e-mail is like going to the doormat on my birthday, thank you everyone and keep it up!

Well I went to the Blue Mountains yesterday and they really are blue. Much bluer then it seems in the photo above. I took so many pics of my own to show you when I get home,sorry! The mountains are covered in eucalupts trees which produce eucalypt oil, this rises in to the air and then the light produces the haze and viola, you have the Blue Mountains!

There were signs everywhere which warn you of your chance of a bush fire. It was moderate yesterday but apparently there were fires here which were so bad in January that some parts were closed for months. Amazingly though, without the bush fires there would be no blue mountains because the trees only drop their seeds after a fire.

Ooh and while we are on bizarre trivia. Did you know that if there was no seaweed, there would be no life on the planet including human because the seaweed stops the sea from being sterile?!

Also saw some real wild Kangoroos yesterday. Must be in Australia! We got a boat back from the Olympic stadium last night as the traffic getting back in to Sydney at night is a nightmare. The boat ride?was beautiful. Felt like I was in a movie!?

So after a day out from this great city, I feel all refreshed and ready to explore again. Will be exploring on foot though. They have a monorail system here which I think is a bit like the tram in Melbourne but it involves this one train, going along a single rail which stretches like one very thin pylon sometimes?across the top of the city, suspended in mid air. So you can be walking along and the train is above you balancing?very very precariously like it is on a tightrope. Seriously, no big concrete bridges to protect the train or poor little me below. I jumped out of that plane but that train still makes me shudder when I see it. There is also lots of street entertainment here and one guy juggles a chain saw. That makes me shudder too. Don't like that!
