Hi!
I see the Golden Gate bridge every day but it has never looked like the pic above, there is so much fog here every single day. Looks good but in a totally different way to all the pictures you see. There is another bridge too.
Went to Yosemite (well, to one part of it. The whole park is bigger then Israel) earlier in the week. Lots and lots of trees and falls. In a way I preferred it to the Grand Canyon cos it was more what I am used to, I guess. The Grand Canyon as spectacular as it was, did not feel real. It was like being on Mars or something.
Done the usual local seasides this week and San Francisco itself, has so much to do but my mind has gone blank (any excuse for chocolate!) so am gonna have to go back to my journal to remind myself what I have actually done this week. Then I can tell you all about it next week.
Ooh, one thing I did learn is you know when you say 'Lucky XXX, their ship has come in'. Well, the saying originates from the Gold Rush in San Francisco. Word quickly got around that there was gold here and ships from all over sailed towards the bay. The waters here are notouriously hostile and cold (the current is from Alaska and there are very strong winds. The people here call the wind a breeze. Hmm. . . me think more like a hurricane!) So if you managed to get here and dock your ship in the bay (there were so many ships trying to get in to the bay that this could be as challenging some times as the entire voyage) safely then you were more or less guaranteed a fair share of gold. Hence the saying, 'my ship has come in'!
Anyway hope you are all ok and see you very soon xxxxxxxxxxxÂ
