After our spontaneous decision, we left our selves a lot of jobs to do. This was obviously on our minds as neither of us slept well on our first night here!
We rose early to begin the long list of jobs. The main job was getting a visa in time! We eventually found the Myanmar embassy in KL after a couple of wrong turns. As we arrived to the big crowd of Burmese people, we sensed we were getting a few dodgy looks. We were soon informed that the tourist department had moved, meaning we had to take another long stroll and monorail trip!
When we finally arrived at the correct place we were delighted to see there were no crowds. We were then informed we could pick our visas up the same day :)
After a brief lunch break, our next big job was to get £800 worth of crisp new US dollars as this is the only thing they will accept in Myanmar! It proved very difficult getting that amount of money out but after a few transfers and a bit of bank hopping we managed it!
Having walked around KL since 8am, we arrived back to our hostel at 5pm as broken people. That evening was a write off! We just about found the energy to catch up on 'David Beckham into the unknown' on YouTube (the first English program we've watched since being away). We now want to go to Brazil!!
Yesterday was a lot less hectic. In the morning we sorted the last few bits of admin for Myanmar... This country has definitely taken the most organisation!
In the afternoon we decided to find a bookshop to prepare for some long journeys ahead! The bookshop was way out of a travellers budget but we did discover a lovely park in amongst the sky scrapers AND A NANDOS!!!
We haven't had many cravings since being away but the last few days we have been starting to resent noodles and rice. At half the price of England's Nandos we couldn't resist!
The rest of the afternoon/evening was spent chilling out in the park watching the fountain shows, researching our next destination and people watching.
Today, our last last day in KL, we enjoyed another home comfort... The cinema!! We'd spotted it the day before so thought it would be a good way to fill our last day. We watched 'Blended'- a hilarious must watch if you haven't seen it. The cinema itself was probably better than one in England and cost us £6 for two tickets and a large popcorn!
The 2.30am alarm is now set for our journey to Myanmar..x
