After a 28 hour coach journey, which we originally thought wwould take us directly to Cambodia, but actually took us there via Bangkok (again!!) we eventually made it. Getting over the border was a bit of a nightmare, despite already having our visas (which meant we didnt have to bribe officials) as it still seemed to take forever. I got stuck in line behind a guy who had had his pasport stolen (they simply did not seem to know how to deal with such a thing) and a guy with the wrong stamps. Infuriating to say the very least.
Siem reap was jam packed with things to do as we didnt have much time there. We only had 1 day to do the temples, so our day started at 4.30in the morning (yes there is such an hour - I didnt believe it either) to get to Ankor Wat for sunrise. From there we had a full day of temple seeing thru to sunset. Exhausted by the end of it all! Our next day started not much later as we had to get a 6 hour mini bus (that looked like it may fall apart at any moment) down to Phom Penh.
