After a needed nights sleep, we wanted to go and see the Giant Buddha on Lantau Island. We took the MTR to Tung Cgung and after having a subway for lunch, decided not to que for the glass bottom cable cars we took the number 23 bus to the Island. The bus journeys are very scarey - thrown all over the bus - with the clifss being literally half a meter away from where the road is! Luke in particular did not like these! The Giant Buddha was huge! It also had 350 steps leading up to it! On our way back down a little old lady was walking down backwards which amused me! The bus journey to and from the Island were lovely - lots of mountains! There are not that many flat areas in Hong Kong but where there are they are built up! We shopped in an outlet before we went back! We then went to Causeway Bay - we did not like the exit we took but quickly found Times Square ( A large shopping mall where we wandered around - made a few purchases - mine including a Thomas Saboo bracelet and charm - as it was much cheaper here) We then went to Wan Chai to go to the American Peking Restaurant that Marge and a book had recommended - it was lovely! Luke ate the Peeking Duck, butterfly prawns and Wun Tum soup! I had 7 small bowls of egg fried rice! Although the food was nice, and the company in the restaurant very westernised - the staff were not too helpful. One never even offered me a drink after taking Lukes order and another laughing at Luke when I signed to pay for the food! One freaky thing we saw was a man with about 7 5inch hairs coming out of a mole! We then went to Temple Street Market which is situated next to MTR Jordan - it was busy, full of fakes and was really nice to shop around! Luke took to haggling which saved us some money! Luke navigated us through today really well - spotting everything that we needed to see to help us get around! Wan Chai - certainly the route we walked was very seedy & full of men!
