Well here I am! The other side of the world in South Australia!
The flight wasn't too bad, had two seats on the plane to myself which was a novelty. Customs even washed my trainers for me as I'd been trekking with them in Thailand and Vietnam. I got minibus to my hostel and arrived there around lunchtime. First thing I needed to do was find a guidebook and work out what on earth I was going to do for the next 2 months! I started to realise I knew very little about this country...
Went to the Zoo one day and saw quite a few different animals I'd never seen before. Pandas, Tasmanian Devils, Crocs to name just a few! All in all not a bad little zoo.
Also went to Glenelg one day to get my first sight of a beach in this amazing country. As it's a western facing beach the sunset is supposed to be amazing but the wind got the better of me and I didn't fancy waiting another 3 hours for it. It was a sunny day but not overly warm so no jumping in the sea for me today.
Other activities included the Museum where there was a massive amount of aboriginal artefacts and information. Not bad for free! The botanical gardens were pretty impressive and made a nice walk in the morning before heading to the beach.
Not to mention a couple of nights out with some of the people from the hostel, most of whom were doing various work trying to pay for their second year in Oz.
