WE WENT SKY-DIVING!!! It really was a stupid thing to do as we're not insured for it, but we figured that if something went wrong chances are we wouldn't make it to a hospital anyway. It was awesome! We booked it yesterday for this morning at 11am, and ever since then I've been terrified while Sam was very calm about the whole thing. We got geared up and headed to the plane which we shared with another couple. We dropped them off at 12,oo feet and it was a horrible, horrible sight because it looked like they were just being sucked out of the plane. We then flew up to 15,00 feet are edged our way to the end of the plane (i went first-i was scared that if I saw Sam get sucked out then I'd chicken out) and had to hang out feet off the edge of the plane, because the person we were strapped to was sat right behind us. The strangest thing was, while we did this there was another person with a camera strapped to their head infront of us and hanging on to the side of the plane the side of the plane (literally hanging on, but as calmly as if they were waiting for a bus) so that they could get photos of us. Thescariest bit was probably going out the plane-the guy we were strapped to jumped, so of course we had to go with, and i just felt myself being sucked down. I span a few times before the little parachuts came out (for resisitance), but Sam was a bit braver and asked to spin around a lot more! The free fall was the best bit, and we did this for about 60 seconds-it was a bit cold and the air was really powerful, but it was so amazing! I can't remember noticing the view until the parachute came up, and had a go at steering-we could see thw whole of Lake Taupo! When the parachute came up it was a lot calmer, and after that it took us about 4 minutes to land. We have a t-shirt and a photo cd and a dvd of the trip (as much evidence as we could get!) so I'll probably send them home with the next parcel!!!
