Rotorua has been quite action-pavked so far! We drove from Auckland to the Waitomo caves, where we visited the glow worm cave (it has thousands of glow worms on the ceiling-it was really pretty until i could see then looked like maggots.), and another cave which was massive and also very pretty. We then headed to Rotorua and settled in the treks backpackers hostel (after we couldn't find the one we'd booked with), but it's more like a hotel than a hostel-the shared bathrooms have a hairdryer so I'm in my element!!! Yesterday we had a wander around the natural springs which was good, except for the smell of sulphur, and today we went Zorbing!!! We opted for the water zorb, which was a bit like a cross between a water ride and a roller coaster and absolutely terrifying the whole way down! But also lots of fun-well worth doing!!! After that we went to a spa for a few hours where they have naturally heated pools, which leaves us nice and chilled out for tonight, when we head to Mitai to visit a Mauori village! It's quite cold and very rainy here at the moment, so it's a bit of a shock after Fiji! We went to a pub for dinner last night and had fish and chips (very much needed!) and some ribs between us-not quite the same as the pilot but it did nicely! Before that we made some of what Sam likes to call 'Barker's Broth', even though it is infact a lamb stew, which lasted us about 3 days!
