It´s our 5th day in Rio!
Yesterday we managed to get up Corcacovado mountain to see the statue of `Christ the Redemeer´-it was amazing! The views were incredible and it was such a nice sunny day! Much better then the first time!!! There were quite a few nuns visiting too, and we saw one of them kill an insect...very random but it´s a bit ironic?!
After that we had a little lie down on the Copacabana beach and met up with Holly and co - we had a drink in a coconut and Sam showed off his ´body surfing´skills.
Afterwards we headed to Sugar loaf mountain to see the sun set, but it was a bit too cloudy so we couldn´t really see. The views were good and the city looked amazing lit up, but I don´t think anything will ever beat Corcacovado, so we probably should had visited them the other way around.
Last night we decided we should probably stop being lame and tired and went out with a few people from our hostel to a little club called `House´. They were giving away free Caprihnas until midnight, but they were pretty vile. Downstairs was a samba-y type place which was pretty quiet and relaxed...maybe a bit too much so, but when they opened upstairs it was a night club that played Engligh dance music from afew years ago.
We´re struggling a little bit with the language, I think we were a bit ignorant in thinking that as it was touisty it would be predominantly English speaking, but we were very wrong! We´ve picked up a word here and there but it´s still quite a challenge!
