Bah I have been telling myself that I was going to write a blog entry every day...oops!
So I am well into my second month out here in the US and I am still loving every second!!! I have been making sure that every morning consists of waking up (of course), rolling onto my yoga mat for a gentle morning stretch to wake up me spine and then it's into my daily dose, 90 and 90 and shimmy drill :) Although I have to admit I have been slacking a teensy bit the past week as I have been adjusting to being completely on my own all day...tis very very weird to me. I have been house sitting for a week now and I miss me two lovely hosts and hope they're having a great time in China!
Last week started rather stressfulli i have to say! I went to the airport with Wick in the wee hours of the morning and had to drive back....I don't know how I managed it but I was able to turn a 45 minute journey into an almost 3 hour 30 minute journey!!! Ha ha ha!!! Needless to say, any time I venture into Portland or anywhere further than the nearest town, I study google maps and right down the directions so haven't gotten meself lost since and am very proud of that *nods*
A good friend and fellow 8 elements initiate came to visit last Sunday and we spilled all of our costume finery and random shinies that had been collected so that we could start piecing together ideas....we of course got distracted by music, youtube, popcorn and attempting to venture across the river to a lil island to find natural costume supplies....we didn't make it, it was still too much on the cold side and a smidge too deep for Makeda to feel comfortable lol!
I ventured into Portland yesterday (without getting lost! *high fives self*) as it was first Thursday. The first Thursday of every month is like a big arts and crafts fair in the streets of west Portland with a lot of free food and drink lol! I met up with Makeda and another 8 elements initiate, Susie Q. After looking at the gorgeous art and sculptures as well as various street performers we found ourselves in a club. It's weird being in a club of any kind since I stopped tarting meself up and going out so much in MK (in the early days lol) so I found it very unnerving and uncomfortable being surrounded by soooooo many egos in one small space! I am sure that I also saw one too many lady gardens thanks to the very drunk dancing from a nearby clubber.....I am not kidding she was throwing herself on the floor and practically grinding on it whilst flashing *whispers* everything O_O Makeda and I ended up going back to hers after a bit.
This morning was like waking up on Christmas day :) I knew that I was getting my new tattoo and I was soooo excited!! We started the day with a calorifically huge breakfast at Sugar Mama's (I figured I would need the energy for the tatt ;P) I had the most amazing banana pecan pancakes, and Makeda had french toast (made with brioche) and fresh peaches ^_^ NOM NOM!!! After waddling out of Sugar Mama's from eating waaaaay too much sugary goodness we drove north across the state line into Washington...It's amazing how close Portland is to the border I always forget!! Once in Vancouver Washington, we went straight to Euphoria tattoo and piercing studio for me brand spanking new art nouveau neck tattoo ^_^ Seriously one of the most relaxing experiences I've had! I went into a meditative state very quickly and felt completely dazed through most of it lol! I think I almost fell asleep a couple of times too! A massive thanks to Ly Nguyn for giving me my first Stateside tatt :D Although I can't see it, when I catch a glimpse of my tatt I let out a lil "Squeeeeee" of glee :D Just have to remember to keep moisturising it and to not pick it!!!!
Anywho I will try and write a blog every evening to document me days...but for now even though it's insanely early for me (only 21:30) I feel incredibly knackered! So I'm going to get meself off to me shack and get some shut eye so that I can wake up very early and get a head start on my daily practise and gym workout :)
Much love to you all my dearest friends and family! Missing you xxxx
