Hi de hi guys and gals!!
I realise that I have been shockingly bad about keeping up with blogs and other things :P
So I've been here for just about 3 weeks now and will shtart from the top!
Firstly I just want to say how AMAZING Portland is! Gorgeously chilled and friendly :) I met with a few good friends before my first important intensive started. Nani was my roomie, supporter and awesome fellow dancer during the 8 elements intensive and I'm so happy j got to share this experience with her!!! The 8 elements was everything I was hoping for and more!! Soooo much fantastic ideas and foundations to build a regular practise! Everyday was a combination of yoga, meditation, drills, group work and homework!! My geeky lil brain has just soaked this experience up and I'm now continuing this study and practise daily :) Those that are unsure whether to do 8 elements, I say go for it!! After the intensive Nani and I stuck around Portland to help a friend move apartments (the trade we made for staying somewhere for free!) and it definitely made me realise I need to de-clutter all my things when I get home!! We found some awesome places for food; Salt and Straw, Sugar Mama's, Zeus' Cafe to name a handful....I can't wait to discover more!!! I can also say that I popped me busking cherry and it was a very liberating and fun experience! Nani left for home on 12th of July so I then went to stay with Makeda, who I met on the 8 elements intensive :) She's a driven lady who has just moved to Portland to make her dance dream a reality....very inspiring! We went to Oregon Country Fair.....all I will say about it is WOW! Words can't express the atmosphere of that place! And a whole mixed bag of craziness in the form of people!! It was like living in someone's surreal dream!! We spent most of our time chilling out at the Gypsy Caravan Stage to watch amazing performances by some of our favourite people!! And I bought myself a couple of items that I know I will treasure forever; an obsidian wind chime and a hand woven wool poncho!! I have come away from country fair with an inspired mind and a very strong motivation....and as much as I hate to say it an even stronger feeling that Portland is fast becoming home! I have already decided that I have to come back to Oregon Country Fair every year!!!
Ok so in a nut shell that has been my adventure so far! And now am back in Eagle Creek staying with the coolest, funniest and shweetest prople :)
I have this ap set up I am going to attempt to write something every day :P
Much love to you all me dears! Miss you all loads!!!
