Well we've made it to Sydney! We left Byron on Monday morning and stopped over at a surf camp on the way down to Sydney. At surf camp we had lessons on the beach on how to surf (these lasted for roughy 5 minutes) then we got in the water and attemped to stand on the board like we did on the beach, trust me its not as easy as it looks. After probably half an hour I did start to get the hang of it, but Sam really wasn't enjoying falling off (every time!). As the lessons went on the current pushed us into a Rip and dragged us out to sea, at the same time the board flipped over and hit us on the head, lucky we managed to escape but that finished us off for the day. We had quite a cool evening and had a party on the beach. The guys at the surf camp had converted a wheely bin into a stereo and with a few drinks and some nice people we had a good time!
Then we had the long drive down to Sydney it took 10 hours on the bus and finally we made it to our hostel in King's Cross. To our surprise we have ended up in the red light district of Sydney with every other shop being a adult shop. There are some seriously weird people here but after a few nights we have got used to walking past them, to be honest they are more like zombies and they don't even look at you if you've not got a drink in your hand and dribble dripping from your mouth! (maybe I'm being a little over the top there).
The rest of Sydney is pretty cool, the harbour looks beautiful and the opera house is stunning. We took a walk through the rocks which is like a piece of london really small streets and cool buildings. Yesterday we went up the Sydney tower which is the highest building in Sydney, the views were great (I personnally couldn't look down, but Sam said it was nice!) the city streched for miles as you can see from the pictures. We also visted a great little market called Paddys Market and Sam picked up some bargins. We now waiting to get the train up to the blue mountains with a couple of friends we've met so hopefully that will be pretty cool.
Later dudes and dudettes! Too easy...
