Last dat in London
Arranged a flight from Edinburgh to Cork for the 19th and then Melissa and I set out on the tube to Harrod's. WOW. After months of repeating my shopping mantra, "I have everything I need...I have everything I need." and only taking what I can carry on my back, I felt overwhelmed by the enormity of this store and especially the prices. The opera singers, Egyptian theme, and grandeur were a sight to see! Next we tubed to St. Paul's Cathedral and had a yummy lunch at Paul's before walking over the Millennium bridge to see the London Tower bridge, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre and the Tate Modern Museum. I think it is great that the art museums are free in London. We arrived early and were able to sit in the choir for the Evensong service. Took the tube and bus back to a favorite pub of Melissa's overlooking the Themes and sipped a glass of Merlot with chocolate while the sun set. Had a nice walk back and a long, hot bubble bath! How fitting that I had a Scottish wool blanket the night before my trip to Scotland!
