The alarm buzzed of at half eight and we had a bit of breakie before heading to the tour agency. We ended up setting off to the pampas river at about an hour after intended at half nine. Our group consisted of a couple and a group of girls, everyone English. It was a three hour jeep journey and after about an hour we hit a well boggy patch which took us ages to get through. The jeep felt like it was going to roll over a couple of times. We got to the river town and had some lunch before boarding a well thin boat to reach our lodge deep in the pampas. During the boat journey we saw quite a bit of wildlife but not as much as we could have as it was a bit cloudy. However we did stop to watch some pink dolphins play, a group of squirrel monkeys bouncing around on some trees, some of which came onto the boat to steal some bananas along with loads of different birds. We arrived at the lodge and saw our first crocodilian just chilling out in the middle of our lodge. We then had some snacks while getting told the brief for the trip before chilling with a few beers. Whilst we were waiting for dinner a massive croc swam past our lodge, must have been a good 2 meters. We had dinner and then set out to spot some crocs. The hunt was fairly unsuccessful, we saw a few and the tour guide found a nest where he grabbed a baby croc and showed us. Also it was pretty cloudy so we couldn't see many the stars and there weren't many fireflies out. We headed back to the lodge and got any early night.
