First real day in London.
We had a late breakfast with humus and tomatos with lots of tea for waking up before we started our walk from near Kings Cross towards Covent Garden with its nice gas lanterns.
The visit at Starbucks was obligatory and I got a nice Starbuckscard with Big Ben and the union jack on the front..plus the information that lacto-free milk is not naturally available in a Starbucks here.
I bought my first book at Waterstone's, a recommendation from Änna: Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch.
Sounds pretty cool so I'm looking forward to start reading. :)
Accidentally we also stumbled into a street full of antique bookshops which I have to visit again on Tuesday when Änna has to go to university (guess she will be thankful for some time without me...and my constant talking...I'm annoying Änna, I know.)
We headed to China Town and had a delicious lunch at [inser chinese name here]'s (WITHOUT EGG!!) with the most adorable waiters/owners ever. Great time. I loved the feeling of being in China all of a sudden, and the street decoration was very nice
Afterwards we slowly...veeeery very slowly walked back in the direction of the dorm with a short stop at a vegan store around the corner. They are selling vegan cupcakes and perhaps this was the moment I fell in love with London. I got a Black Forest cupacke while Änna chose one with Rocher-flavour. We enjoyed them with some black tea and books in the kitchen of the dorm.
After this short break we got ready for a bustour through London. From Kings Cross we drove down Oxford Street, passed Marble Arch (which I didn't see...) and drove along Hyde and Green Park before taking the way back where we got a nice view of Westminster Cathedral and Westminster Abbey, Houses of Parliament with Big Ben and the London Eye at night.
Our evening ended with some episodes of 'New Girl' with cider and crisps.
Goodnight so far.
