Ok
So here we go.
Where had I left off? Oh yes. Canada.
Well the next day was a nice relaxing chill out day, just hanged out with the boys, played more Halo, drove round a few places really nice to have a calm day and collect myself.
On the last day before departure we visited Lake Louise. It's a beautiful vast natural lake with mountains surrounding it and a great walk round the left side of the perimeter.
Of course the boys refused to do any outdoor activity that require exercise so we made sure we did it, if not to spite, to encourage environmental education haha.
The boys are so funny, I love hanging out with them. They try so hard to overrule their mother, but you would have thought, as soft and gentle a character as Sonja is she is a damn determined mother and what she says goes. ( the best way if you ask me) and no amount of protesting and arguing is going to alter that opinion.Anyone outside the family can see that so I just sit in the front seat laughing to myself while I witness the boys battle it out verbally in she hope their mother might give in, when anyone can see they haven't got a hope in hell. Boys will be boys, unfortunately I find it hilarious.
After witnessing a very strong debate put forward from all three boys to their mother, hearing severe reasons why it was such an inexcusable suggestion to even contemplate the idea of going for a walk, we battled on and eventually the protests died down and we all walked in harmony around the lake taking in the wonderful views and appreciating the scenery.
We then ventured towards Lake Minawaka, I think, I'll have to double check. Now, here the boys made a bet with me.I think Andrew started it or Matthew, either way they each bet £5 that I couldn't get into the water and walk so far out that the water went right over my head while I was still standing. Now let me inform you this water is FREEZING.
FREEZING.
But a Saggers NEVER lets down on a bet.I have, as most of my friends will vouch for, an insane determination to win at everything, no matter what it is. And a bet is no different. If someone tells me I can't do it, I'll bloody well try my hardest to prove them wrong. Of course its got me into a lot of problems in the past but this time I was determined to show them.
I stripped down to my bikini and put one tiny toe into the icy cold water and instantly regretted it.Cursed the fact I had be born so damn obnoxious but still having far too much pride to turn back, continued to walk into the lake of perpetual doom.
Oh lord, the cold. Oh well, it could have been worse, not sure how but I told myself it could have been.
I got to waist and just dived in. I swam out to where I couldn't touch the bottom, stood up showed them all my head was under water and then swam back to the boys.
Of course my body temperature had gotten used to the water by then and I spent the next couple of hours swimming around the lake looking at all the rocks.David was the first to join me, in fact he had stepped in before me but Andrew took a while to get in but given his due he did it. Matthew was just chicken. However he spent his time composing a pretty nifty tune on the mobile phone which he named Crazy Gypsy as that was the name I had been given since the start of our travels lol.
After munching on some sandwiches we drove back to Canmore to visit the A&W root beer café they had there where the root beer was served in these massive glass tankards. Was AMAZING .haha.
We came home, made some brownies, had dinner and sessioned it out on Halo again for the last time.
